Before They Were Famous II

Part two of our ongoing series takes us back to the early 50’s, when a largely unknown young Dutch gentleman made a decent living as a Blackjack dealer and high society male escort. In the sixties he moved to Bremen where he became a radio show host (and fan of the to this day unsuccessful regional football team SV Werder), but it was only in the 70’s that his strange facial expressions and curious accent got him a job on television, where Rudi Carrell soon developed into a celebrated national icon.

After faking his death in 2006 he now lives a quiet life somewhere in Bavaria.
